This Tommy Tuberville thing is important because it's a bizarre claim with a lot of attention to a totally random thing about the fandom, nowhere near the spooky scary lewd stuff people clutch their pearls over.
Ideally, this should be a wake up call for people.

There's no such thing as a "good furry" to them. No amount of "cleaning up the fandom" will prevent harassment, especially when any open expression of being queer is seen as "mental illness".
The infighting needs to stop immediately. We're all evil in the eyes of the potato.
