There is no end to the shit happening in the world, but Texas residents should consider expediting their departure; the Texas GOP's new platform has some terrifying goals, but highlighted here are geared towards LGBTQ+ citizens.
Homosexuality and Gender Issues 147. Homosexuality: Homosexuality is an abnormal lifestyle choice. We believe there should be no granting of special legal entitlements or creation of special protected status for homosexual behavior, regardless of state of origin, and we oppose any criminal or civil penalties against those who oppose homosexuality out of faith, conviction, or belief in traditional values. 30 Table of Contents 148. Gender Identity: We oppose all efforts to validate transgender identity and ideology. We believe gender modification in any form for minors does not constitute medical care and is, in fact, child abuse. Further, there shall be no attempt to engage in so-called “gender affirming” medical or mental health intervention for persons between the ages of 18 and 26, including: a) Intervening in any way to prevent natural progression of puberty. b) Administering or providing opposite sex hormones. c) Performing any surgery on healthy body parts of that person. d) Assigning name or pronoun changes. Any agency, individual, or other entity promoting, performing, or facilitating gender-transitioning or gender-modification of a minor child shall be criminally prosecuted for child abuse and exposed to civil actions, enjoying no immunity regardless of profession, relation, or standing. 149. No Taxpayer Funding for “Sex Change”: We oppose the use of taxpayer funds for any type of medical treatments or interventions intended to alter sex characteristics. This includes, but is not limited to, military personnel and inmates in federal, state, or local prisons or jails. No federal, state, insurance, or probate monies may be allocated for the use of such treatment. 150. Counseling Methods: Therapists, psychologists, and counselors practicing in the State of Texas shall be authorized by appropriate licensing boards for practicing authentic reparative therapy or other counseling methods when counseling clients of any age with identity disorder or unwanted same-sex attraction.

-Banning puberty blockers -No HRT for people under 26 -No gender affirming surgeries -No name changes -It'd be a crime to talk about transgender issues -Therapists, counselors, and psychologists would be forced to lean towards conversion therapy.

Gay rights in general would be invalidated, marriages perhaps, but at least no additional hate crime charges if a person chooses to attack a queer individual.
