Honestly, my only real gripe with the Minecraft movie is that there's no reason it should have been targeted specifically towards kids as opposed to having a little more effort put in it to be a generally good all-ages movie. I get why it's like that, but it just shouldn't be.

Minecraft was developed in coordination with feedback from 4chan, it took a fair bit before it was mainstream and it's been around long enough that a ton of the fans are adults, most likely those with their own families.
